InspectMedic Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how InspectMedic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our iPhone application and related website (together, the “Services”).
If you have questions, contact us at support@inspectmedic.com or visit https://inspectmedic.com.
1. Introduction
InspectMedic is an AI-assisted home inspection application for iPhone that helps professional home inspectors create and manage inspection reports, capture photos, use optional AI-generated suggestions for comments, manage related documents such as agreements and receipts, publish reports, and sync work across devices using secure cloud infrastructure.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal and business information responsibly. This policy is written in plain language so inspectors can understand it, while still meeting common expectations for mobile apps and App Store submissions.
By using InspectMedic, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1.1 What this policy covers
This policy is a single, combined policy for both the iPhone app and the marketing website at inspectmedic.com. In practice, most of the data described below (inspection content, photos, AI inputs, payments, etc.) is collected only when you use the iPhone app. The marketing website itself collects only standard web-traffic information (for example, the IP address and browser information any web server sees) and any contact information you choose to send us by email.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use InspectMedic, we may collect or process categories of information such as:
Account and profile information
- Name
- Email address
- Business or company name
- Other profile details you choose to provide
Inspection and property-related information
- Inspection reports and report content you create
- Property addresses and related location or property details
- Checklists, notes, observations, and similar report fields
- Status of inspections (for example, scheduled, in progress, or delivered)
Photos, files, and media
- Photos you take with the camera or attach from your photo library
- Other files or documents you upload in connection with an inspection
Agreements, invoices, and receipts
- Information you enter or generate for agreements, invoices, or receipts associated with your inspections
AI-related information
- Text or images you submit when using AI-assisted features (for example, prompts, captions, or images sent for analysis)
- AI-generated suggestions or responses returned to the app
Purchases and subscriptions
- Information about report credits, subscriptions, or other purchases (for example, that a purchase occurred, product type, and transaction identifiers)
- We do not collect or store your full payment card number in InspectMedic’s systems
Technical and usage information
- Device and app information that helps us operate and improve the Services (for example, app version, diagnostic logs in limited circumstances, and general usage patterns where analytics are used)
- IP address and connection information typical of internet-connected apps and websites
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the app, and limited information from your device as needed for the features you choose to use.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above for purposes such as:
- Operating the app — creating, editing, storing, and displaying inspection reports and related content
- Syncing and backup — keeping your data available across devices and in secure cloud storage where you enable or use cloud features
- AI-assisted features — processing text or images you submit to generate suggestions; you remain responsible for reviewing all content before publishing
- Publishing reports — sending or making available PDF reports and related materials as you direct
- Purchases and subscriptions — validating entitlements, report credits, and subscription status with Apple or other authorized payment systems
- Customer support — responding to questions, troubleshooting, and improving reliability
- Security and fraud prevention — protecting accounts and the integrity of the Services
- Improving the Services — understanding how features are used in aggregate, fixing bugs, and planning improvements (in line with this policy and applicable law)
We do not sell your personal information as a commodity. We use data as needed to provide and improve InspectMedic and to meet legal or safety requirements when applicable.
4. AI Feature Disclosure (Important)
InspectMedic may offer AI-assisted tools to help draft comments, analyze images or text you provide, or suggest wording. These tools are assistive only.
Please understand that:
- AI services may process text, images, or other inputs you submit when you choose to use those features.
- AI-generated content may be incomplete, incorrect, or inappropriate for a specific property or jurisdiction. It is not a substitute for your professional judgment, code knowledge, or on-site findings.
- You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content—including anything suggested by AI—before you publish, deliver, or rely on an inspection report.
- AI-generated suggestions are assistance tools only. Final inspection observations, professional decisions, and the accuracy of published reports remain the sole responsibility of the licensed or qualified inspector using the app.
We encourage you to treat AI output as a starting point, not a final report.
5. Camera, Photos, and File Access
InspectMedic may request permission to access:
Camera
We use camera access so you can take photos during inspections and attach them to reports or comments, as you choose.
Photo library
We use photo library access so you can select existing photos to attach to inspections or reports instead of taking a new picture.
Files and documents
We may request access to files or documents on your device when a feature needs to import, attach, or export documents (for example, PDFs or related files you explicitly choose).
We use these permissions only to support features you use. You can decline permission, though some features may not work without it.
6. Cloud Storage & Data Sync
InspectMedic is designed to work with secure cloud infrastructure so that:
- Your inspection data, reports, and related content can be stored remotely in encrypted or protected environments
- Data can sync between your devices when you sign in and use cloud features
- Backups and continuity of service can be maintained according to our technical design
- Publishing reports (for example, PDF delivery) may involve temporary processing and storage as part of that workflow
How our cloud provider fits in
InspectMedic may use Supabase (or equivalent managed services) for database storage, authentication, file storage, and related backend functions. In practical terms:
- Structured data (such as inspection records, text fields, and metadata) is typically stored in a managed database (PostgreSQL is the underlying technology Supabase uses).
- Files such as images or documents may be stored in managed object storage with access controls.
- Account sign-in may use Supabase’s authentication services (for example, email-based or other methods we enable).
Supabase Pro (and other paid tiers) are primarily billing and service-level options (such as support, capacity, and platform features). They do not change the core idea: your app data is held in Supabase-managed infrastructure with industry-standard protections such as encryption in transit (HTTPS) and protections applied by the provider to stored data. Exact features and locations can depend on your project settings and Supabase’s current documentation.
We configure access so that your data is intended to be available only to you and systems we operate on your behalf, subject to this policy and our security practices.
7. Payments & Purchases
When you purchase subscriptions, report credits, or other paid features:
- Apple App Store often processes the payment. Apple’s privacy policy and terms apply to that part of the transaction.
- We may receive limited information from Apple or payment systems (for example, confirmation that a purchase succeeded, subscription status, or a transaction identifier)—not your full card number.
- InspectMedic does not store complete payment card details on our own servers for those Apple-processed purchases.
For any non-Apple payment flows we might add in the future, we will use trusted payment providers and describe them here or in supplemental terms.
8. Third-Party Services
To run InspectMedic reliably, we may rely on categories of third-party services, such as:
- Cloud hosting and database providers (for example, managed database and storage services like Supabase)
- Authentication providers (for secure sign-in and account management)
- AI processing providers (when you use AI features; they process only what is sent for that request, as described in this policy)
- Analytics or diagnostics providers (to understand stability and usage in aggregate, where we use them)
- Email or messaging providers (for example, to send reports or transactional messages you request)
We select providers that offer appropriate safeguards for the types of data we handle. Specific subprocessors may change over time; we will update this policy or provide a list where required by law or by platform rules.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These may include, where appropriate:
- Encryption of data in transit (for example, HTTPS/TLS)
- Access controls and authentication for cloud systems
- Limited internal access to production systems
No method of transmission or storage is completely immune to risk. We do not claim that our Services are “100% secure,” “unhackable,” or free from all possible threats. We work to reduce risk in line with industry practice and the sensitivity of the data involved.
10. User Ownership of Content
You retain ownership of inspection reports, photos, notes, and other content you create or upload through InspectMedic, subject to:
- The rights you grant us in this policy and in our Terms of Use (or equivalent agreement) as needed to operate, host, sync, and display your content within the Services, and
- Any obligations you have to clients, property owners, or regulators regarding that content.
We do not claim ownership of your professional inspection work product.
11. Data Retention & Deletion
- We may retain your information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with law, or maintain backups.
- Backup copies may persist for a limited time after deletion from the primary system.
You may request deletion of your account or personal data, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must retain).
To request deletion or ask about your data: Email support@inspectmedic.com with the subject line “Data deletion request” and the email address associated with your account. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and may ask you to verify your identity.
12. Children’s Privacy
InspectMedic is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example, in the app or by email).
Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where your consent is required by law for certain changes.

This policy is meant to be clear, modern, and trustworthy. It is not tailored to every country or state. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example, to access, correct, export, or object to certain processing of your data). Contact us at the email above and we will work with you in good faith.
Nothing in this policy is intended to waive any non-waivable rights you have under applicable law.
16. Apple App Store
If you download InspectMedic from the Apple App Store, Apple may collect information as described in Apple’s privacy policy. Our use of information collected through the app is governed by this Privacy Policy, not by Apple’s—except for payment and account information that Apple processes directly.
